Finnish National Opera Orchestra announces audition for
2. VIOLIN SUB-PRINCIPAL (two positions)
Permanent positions starting on August 3rd, 2026, or by agreement
Salary range EUR 4005,21-4727,55 € /month. In addition, instrument and dress reimbursement and remuneration for recording.
AUDITION for all positions will take place at the Finnish National Opera on Monday 20.4.2026.
Required pieces:
1) Mozart: Violin Concerto no. 3 in G major or no. 4 in D major or no. 5 in A major; 1st movement with cadenza
2) 1st movement from one of the following concertos: Sibelius, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mendelssohn
3) Orchestral excerpts and chamber music excerpt
Music for the chamber music and orchestral excerpts will be sent after the application has been submitted and are available about two months before the audition.
An accompanist will be provided but candidates may bring their own pianist if they so desire.
The candidates selected for the audition will be informed after the closing date.
Position is open to applicants of any nationality.
Based on the audition, it is also possible to fill the open position of second violin tutti player.

The Chief Conductor is Hannu Lintu. Apart from opera and ballet performances, the Orchestra gives symphony and chamber music concerts.
