Finnish National Opera Orchestra announces audition for
2. VIOLIN TUTTI PLAYER (two positions)
Permanent positions starting on 7.1.2027, or by agreement
AUDITION for both positions will take place at the Finnish National Opera on Monday 9.11.2026.
Required pieces:
1) Mozart: Violin Concerto no. 3 in G major or no. 4 in D major or no. 5 in A major; 1st movement with cadenza
2) 1st movement from one of the following concertos: Sibelius, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mendelssohn
3) Orchestral excerpts and chamber music excerpt
Music for the chamber music and orchestral excerpts will be sent after the application has been submitted and are available about six weeks before the audition.
An accompanist will be provided but candidates may bring their own pianist if they so desire.
The candidates selected for the audition will be informed after the closing date.
Position is open to applicants of any nationality.

The Finnish National Opera and Ballet is one of the leading opera companies in northern Europe. The Orchestra of the Finnish National Opera is Finland’s largest symphony orchestra, with 110 members. The Principal Conductor is Dima Slobodeniouk. Apart from opera and ballet performances, the Orchestra gives symphony and chamber music concerts. The Orchestra currently has members from 15 nationalities, and the working languages are Finnish and English.
