3-4 Postdoctoral Researchers in Information Technology

The Faculty of Information Technology is seeking to recruit 3-4  Postdoctoral Researchers as of 1.8.2026 or as agreed. Contract length maximum of four years, 2nd term contracts maximum two years.

The research activities of the faculty are concentrated in 18 research groups, which operate under four areas of activity (educational technology and cognitive science, computational science, software engineering and information systems science). Who should apply

The duties of the Postdoctoral Researcher include research tasks specific to the researcher’s own area of research within one of the faculty`s research groups, high-level publishing productivity, teaching and thesis instruction as well as productivity in research projects and procuring research funding. The research of the Postdoctoral Researcher is expected to strenghten the academic work and publishing profile of the faculty`s research groups.

The duties, qualification requirements, and language skills of a postdoctoral researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. The PhD degree required for the position must have been completed before the starting date. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.

Salaries are based on job demands and employees’ performance following the Finnish University Salary System. The salary for a Postdoctoral Researcher is determined based on the task-specific demand level 5–6 for teaching and research staff. The salary range will be approximately 3800-4400 €/month (gross income), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A holiday bonus is paid to all employees. If you are relocating from abroad, we will support your move to Jyväskylä and Finland.
