The Faculty of Information Technology is seeking to recruit
3 Postdoctoral Researchers as of 1.8.2025 or as agreed
Contract length maximum of four years, 2nd term contracts maximum two years.
The duties of the Postdoctoral Researcher include research tasks specific to the researcher’s own area of research within one of the faculty`s research groups, high-level publishing productivity, teaching and thesis instruction as well as productivity in research projects and procuring research funding. The research of the Postdoctoral Researcher is expected to strenghten the academic work and publishing profile of the faculty`s research groups.
The research activities of the faculty are concentrated in 14 research groups, which operate under four areas of activity (educational technology and cognitive science, computational science, software engineering and information systems science). Who we are looking for
The duties, qualification requirements, and language skills of a Postdoctoral Researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. The PhD degree required for the position must have been completed before the starting date. Good English skills are required and the ability to teach in English is an advantage.
Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant’s merits and scientific quality and feasibility of the research plan and its connection to the faculty’s research fields.

The salary for a Postdoctoral Researcher is determined based on the task-specific demand level 5–6 of the university salary system for teaching and research staff. The salary range will be approximately 3800-4400 €/month (gross income), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.

The Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä is the first and largest in its field in Finland. The mission of the faculty is to create a science-based digital future.
