Growth Marketer - Wildfire - SF

Wildfire is the front page of the five miles right around you. It's an app where users post about local events (campus safety, parties, celebrity sightings, and more) to notify the people right around them instantly.

We are a 4-person startup of recent UC Berkeley grads backed by Y Combinator and several tier-one Silicon Valley venture capital firms.

Wildfire is used by thousands of college students and we are growing quickly. Over 50% of UC Berkeley’s campus downloaded Wildfire within a month. When a shooting happened near campus, we notified 4,000 students in 1 minute – and grew by 2,000 downloads in the next hour - literally spreading like wildfire.

This is a unique opportunity to join a startup with significant momentum where you’ll help define our company as it evolves, and build a product that will impact people’s lives daily.

The role is varied and requires a self-starter. You’ll spend some of your time traveling around the US and visiting university campuses.

You'll be the CEO of Wildfire at this campus! You'll be responsible for:

forming relationships with students to understand how Wildfire can be most useful for their campus

designing and implementing creative on-the-ground marketing campaigns to spread awareness of Wildfire

recruiting and leading a team of student marketing interns

The rest of the time you’ll spend in our San Francisco headquarters. There you will:

still be in close communication with students at our colleges

work on digital marketing (emails and social media)

and work closely with our content and product teams

Does this sound like you?

A super sociable person who makes friends and relationships easily (you have no trouble walking up to people on the street)

A self-starter who can work independently outside of the office and get results

An optimistic personality who will always want to experiment with creative, new ideas
