Who we are looking for
The Finnish National Gallery is an active cultural institution and a significant expert organisation in the field of art. Finland’s largest art museum institution comprises the Ateneum Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, and the Sinebrychoff Art Museum.
Guides at the Finnish National Gallery introduce visitors to exhibitions at the museums through tours, workshops and lecture-style presentations.
The requirements for working as a guide vary by museum, but advanced studies in art history, studies in early childhood education, and comprehensive knowledge of the field of art are assets for the job. We expect all our guides to have good presentation and group management skills, and strong Finnish and English language skills. We also value skills in other languages, such as Swedish.
The work of a guide is intermittent, and it is well suited for gaining work experience and earning additional income alongside studies or another job, for example.
We provide a good induction to the job, a comfortable working environment, and a flexible working-time model.
We regularly go through open applications and invite applicants to interviews, as needs arise.
