Now we are looking for Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of metabolic engineering of microbes for plastic degradation. This is a two years contract starting at the latest in January 2021. This position is funded by grant.
Your main responsibility will be development of enzymes and/or microbes, which can degrade specific plastics. Work will focus on elucidation of novel plastic degrading pathways. This work requires cloning and gene expression and analysis of the enzyme activities.You will also carry out genetic modification of microbes to enhance their plastic degradation capacity.
We expect you to have a background in biochemistry and/or knowledge in metabolic pathways. Previous experience from enzyme discovery is an asset. You are finalizing your doctoral thesis or already gained some experience as a post doc researcher. We expect you to have fluent written and spoken English skills since you will be working in an international environment.
