Senior Researcher / Researcher, Intelligent Sensor-Based Robotics

Do you want to join our Intelligent Sensor-Based Robotics team, which solves demanding robotics challenges? Our team’s main activities are related to production and machine systems and newest automation technologies. We have close co-operation with national and international collaborators from industrial and academy.

We are now looking for a Senior Scientist or Research Scientist to join our team.

Our mission is to strengthen especially the Finnish and European industry by transferring our research results to industrial practice. The team is applying and developing novel intelligent robot control and programming methods and technology enablers for demanding applications for production and machine automation. Industrial and mobile robotics, human-robot collaboration, 3D computer vision and force control are among the most important research topics in our team. The job is located in Oulu, Finland.

With us you will be responsible for

acquiring funding for and carrying out research and development projects in the field of advanced robotics. You will be familiar with and contribute to the state-of-the art research and technologies in robotics. You will get into the frontline of intelligent robotics research, complete challenging tasks with robotics and robotic applications, and develop further your own excellence.

We expect you to have

suitable background and skills as follows:

  • Studies in a relevant field (e.g. Mechatronics and/or Robotics and/or Electronics)
  • Good knowledge or experience in the field of robotics and/or machine automation
  • Good communication skills and capabilities to understand our customers and their requirements
  • Knowledge of suitable programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C++…)

We are looking for a real top expert in robotics with a master´s or doctoral degree, and expect you to have excellent skills in academic publishing - good skills in spoken and written English are necessary. The ability to apply theoretical understanding to create practical solutions and especially communicate these to our customers will be highly appreciated. Experience in project or customer work is an asset.
