Nosto is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our team in New York City, US!


As a Senior Sales Engineer you will be a universal development resource for the North American region of Nosto owning the advanced technical integrations for all key accounts. You will predominantly work to develop custom, enterprise-grade implementations of Nosto on various eCommerce platforms such as Magento, Shopify Plus, Big Commerce, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud as well as integrating other third-party eCommerce related solutions. You will be supporting your team with varying degrees of technical troubleshooting and pre-sales and post-sales activities. 

Your success in this role depends on your ability to translate technical documentation and dialogues with both business decision-makers and third party technical implementations into working solutions. In the role, you will directly liaise with the platforms and machine learning teams at Nosto in Helsinki, Findland to deliver these advanced, cross-platform personalization experiences. This role is very technical in nature and at time client facing. Advanced knowledge of PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS as well as deep commerce platform knowledge of Magento, Shopify Plus and ideally Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a must. Posessing a deep understanding of UX focussed eCommerce and backend eCommerce operations as well as knowing your way around APIs, PWA/SPA, and GraphQL are huge pluses for this role.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical pre-sales support to your business development team to answer any technical questions that arise during the sales process
  • Serving as a primary technical point of contact for enterprise merchants implementing Nosto into their eCommerce store 
  • Serving as a primary technical point of contact for System Integrators implementing Nosto into their customer’s eCommerce store 
  • Ensuring regional targets are met together with your team serving as the problem solver and the primary regional technical expert
  • Working together with a broad partner network to ensure integrations are well-built, stable and continually evaluating further local development topics


​​​​​​​To be successful in this role you need to:

  • BSc in Computer Science / Engineering (or equivalent) a must
  • Deep developer knowledge across all relevant client-side and server-side development frameworks including but not limited to; PHP, Java, HTML, CSS, Python 
  • eCommerce platform experience in at least two of the following: Shopify Plus, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Big Commerce
  • Experience working with various forms of API’s
  • Familiarization with emerging web technologies such as GraphQL, SPAs & PWAs
  • Being able to gather, evaluate and understand technical details and requirements to further translate them into a format that is easily digestible for lesser technical people as well to allow technical people to take action upon
  • Understand the functionality of an eCommerce business, underlying sales funnel and marketing techniques
  • ​​​​​​​Work with both the Sales and Customer Success teams to pitch new features and upsell existing customers in the portfolio  


We are very impressed if you:

  • Have previously worked in a key account management role preferably of a technical nature
  • Can understand where our suite of products can deliver value for our prospects and existing clients
  • Have past experience working in the AI or machine learning space
  • ​​​​​​​Have worked in the eCommerce space previously, either for an eCommerce brand, system integrator and/or a third-party solution provider
