VTT Summer of Changemakers 2021 is looking for you. We offer over 30 truly meaningful summer traineeships, where you get to challenge yourself and build your career in a community of brilliant minds. Do you want to be the next Research Trainee in Industrial Cybersecurity?

VTT has a solid background in solving cybersecurity challenges in several different industries, such as the energy and telecommunications sectors. We find the best solutions from ensuring the security of consumer products to protecting critical infrastructure.

What would your responsibilities include?

You will participate in international research projects as a member of the VTT project team developing secure solutions for digitalisation of manufacturing and Industry 4.0 (projects: https://secoiia.eu/, https://www.cyberfactory-1.org/ ).

As a trainee, you are expected to:

  • Assist in the research work
  • Participate in project meetings and conference calls
  • Write short documentation
  • Develop code for proof-of-concepts
  • Present your work to the project team and depending on your ambition also to the international project team

Who we are looking for?

To succeed in the position, you have following background and skills:

  • Studies in a relevant field (at least 3 years of studies)
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python, Java…)
  • The team works in English, so written and verbal communication skills in English are a must
  • Interest towards cybersecurity and to learn new things
  • Possibility to work in Espoo, Oulu or Tampere

We expect you to be an open-minded person who is willing to seize new opportunities. You should have both team working skills and the ability to work independently. Most importantly you get things done and communicate about possible obstacles so that we can find solutions together.
