We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated Automation Service Manager to lead, develop, and deliver high quality automation-related services for marine propulsion systems. This role ensures technical excellence, lifecycle support and continuous improvement of automation solutions across customer vessels and fleets. The position combines team leadership, technical expertise, customer engagement, and operational coordination to secure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient commissioning and service execution.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Managing automation service operations for propulsion control systems, monitoring systems, and associated onboard automation
• Planning and coordinating resources for commissioning, field service, and remote support
• Providing expert-level troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for automation and control issues
• Planning service, repair and modernization tasks of automation and control systems in Steerprop's propulsion systems
• Ensuring availability of remote and on-site support, including 24/7 response when required
• Collaborating closely with product engineering to resolve escalated technical issues
• Driving continuous development and improvement of automation services and systems

The skills and experience we value:

• Strong experience in industrial automation, especially control systems, PLCs, and field devices, e.g. proven background in commissioning or service operations
• Experience in leading or coordinating teams
• Independent and solution-oriented way of working with strong prioritization skills and ability to perform under pressure
• Customer-oriented approach with excellent communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English (Finnish and other languages are a plus)
• Willingness to travel internationally, if needed
• Relevant technical education (e.g. automation, electrical or marine engineering, bachelor’s/master’s degree or equivalent)
• Understanding of marine industry systems is a an advantage

In this role, you will report to the Service Director with your office located in Rauma or Vantaa, Finland.
