Cloud Developer, Maventa

Maventa is an e-invoicing platform and we are responsible for a state of the art electronic invoice and document exchange hub, operating in several countries, and serving close to 300 000 companies. Our platform serves tens of millions of transactions each month. Maventa is an API-first SaaS product, and while we have a UI, it’s playing a smaller role.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join our product development team. The role is a combination of software development on the cloud with DevOps. In this role, you'll not only contribute to our cloud-first initiatives but also ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and testable code, integral for both our application and infrastructure solutions. You'll be part of a culture that values collaborative problem-solving and innovative thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, resilient cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
  • Lead cloud migration initiatives for existing applications to enhance performance and reduce operating costs.
  • Promote infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, to ensure code quality and ease of testing.
  • Advance our observability and monitoring capabilities using DataDog to improve system insights and reliability.
  • Develop and refine CI/CD pipelines, with a strong emphasis on GitLab, to support automated testing and deployment processes.
  • Foster a team environment that embraces mob programming, with a focus on crafting testable, high-quality code for both application features and infrastructure components.

To Succeed in this role you need:

  • Proven experience in cloud services, with AWS expertise highly valued.
  • Experience in cloud migration is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC), through tools like Terraform, Ansible, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD practices, particularly with GitLab.
  • Hands on experience on coding: we are using Ruby and Rails and we hope you either are proficient with it or are willing to learn
  • A history of working on or interest in improving observability and monitoring practices, ideally with experience in DataDog.
  • A commitment to producing testable, well-crafted code, upholding exceptional standards for both application development and infrastructure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with an appreciation for mob programming.
