Construction Manager to CapMan Real Estate, Copenhagen

In the CapMan Real Estate team we execute both value add and stable income-focused investment strategies across all major property sectors in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Our active value-add funds seek to acquire transitional properties in the most liquid Nordic markets where an asset can be enhanced by active rental and cost management, investments in redevelopment, change of use, or repositioning. Our funds and mandates targeting stable income seek well-located, high-quality investments that generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors across market cycles. Our Nordic Real Estate operations include approximately 80 committed real estate investment professionals.

We are now strengthening our Danish Real Estate team by hiring an experienced and talented Construction Manager to join our team in Copenhagen.
The Role
As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Your duties will include budgeting, organizing, implementing, and scheduling the projects. You will collaborate closely with our internal asset managers as well as external architects, surveyors, and other industry professionals to ensure successful project execution.
Your responsibilities more specifically:
You will be involved from the outset, asking the right questions at the appropriate time, entering into relevant agreements, participating in project and construction meetings, and overseeing project progress with contractors and advisors throughout the sketch, planning, and execution phases.
- Lead design and planning phases for construction projects, focusing on older residential buildings and ensuring the implementation of technical and practical solutions.
- Manage apartment renovations (§19.2)
- Contribute to creating maintenance plans for long-term property management.
- Oversee project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Implement ESG initiatives, integrating sustainability practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate with tenants and investors in both Danish and English.
Who we are looking for
We are expanding our asset and construction management team bringing the total team size to seven. We are looking for individuals who are motivated to learn, grow, and develop their expertise in real estate asset management, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative environment.
To be successful in this role we believe that the following qualifications are essential:
- Background as a building designer (“bygningskonstruktør”) or engineer and preferably experience as a craftsman (“håndværker”). Preferably 5+ years of experience.
- Ability to see the big picture while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience with recognized IT solutions, such as DALUX.
- Experience with older residential buildings and common issues related to projects like roof replacements, basements, drainpipes, and similar.
- Possible background in facility management and experience with maintenance plans.
- Experience with apartment renovations, preferably §19.2 renovations.
- Strong project management and budget control skills.
- A keen interest in sustainability practices and implementing CapMan's ESG strategy in projects.
- Excellent time management and project coordination skills.
- Want to be a team member but can also work independently.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in both Danish and English, written and spoken.
