We’re looking for a consultant who enjoys untangling finance processes, feels comfortable when technology enters the conversation, and sees business development as a natural part of the job. You’ll deliver projects, shape our offerings, engage directly with clients and help grow a modern consulting practice within a global organization.

BDO Consulting is our newest and fastest-scaling advisory area. We are expanding into finance transformation, process consulting and technology-supported advisory. Our work sits at the intersection of finance processes, reporting, planning, technology, regulatory developments and strategic change. The team works closely with BDO’s specialists in IFRS, sustainability reporting, valuations, audit and tax, creating a broad platform for high‑impact advisory work.


What the role is really about


This is a consulting role, yes. But it is also more, it is a business-building role.

This position focuses on helping CFOs and finance teams modernise their operating models, streamline processes, enhance tools and strengthen reporting capabilities. You will take part in building and packaging BDO’s service portfolio and work directly with clients on practical improvement initiatives.


What you will actually do:

  • Mapping and redesigning finance processes (P2P / O2C / R2R), and helping clients fix the parts “everyone knows should be fixed but no one has quite had the time to fix.”
  • Building CFO operating models and clarifying roles, controls, and workflows,
  • Strengthening planning and forecasting practices, from budgeting clean-ups to driver-based forecasting,
  • Advising on consolidation and FP&A systems, and
  • Helping clients adopt more efficient reporting and performance management models,
  • Developing go-to-market packages and create new offerings to respond client needs.


You do not need to be an IT specialist, but it helps if you feel comfortable working with tools such as consolidation systems, planning applications or reporting solutions. Knowing how finance data flows through an organisation is a strong advantage. Experience in process mapping, requirements definition, testing or change impact assessment is equally relevant.

Depending on your background, you may focus more on process development, finance transformation, technology selection and implementation support, or reporting and performance management.


Business development and practice building

A significant part of this role is driving the growth of our consulting business. This includes meeting clients, identifying opportunities, packaging totally new service offerings and continuously learning new things to support BDO’s consulting offering. For us, sales means understanding what clients need and helping them in whatever they want to achieve.


Who will succeed in this role

We believe you will thrive if you have:

  • Consulting background (this is essential. You know how projects run, how to communicate with clients, and how to structure work effectively.
  • Experience in finance transformation, FP&A, controlling, process improvement, reporting or related technology.
  • A curious mindset, analytical thinking and the ability to pick up new ideas quickly.
  • The ability to communicate clearly in Finnish and English both in writing and verbally, in your day-to-day work.
