We are looking for an Account Lead, Multi-Industry Companies 

In this both demanding and interesting role you will lead VTT’s commercial operations towards named multi-industry companies in the field of power systems, power products and automation mainly in Europe. We are looking for a skilled and experienced sales professional, capable and motivated enough to transform research findings into business opportunities. Helping our customers succeed and enter new markets is our priority. 

The location of the position is preferably Espoo, Finland or Tampere, Finland. Other VTT locations are negotiable. 

As Customer Account Lead, you will: 

  • Be responsible for nominated multi-industry companies mainly in the European region 

  • Plan sales activities for the named multi-industry companies  

  • Both seek new business opportunities among named customers and acquire new customers 

  • Visit trade shows, conferences and other relevant events in Europe 

  • Analyze opportunities for VTT to better support customers business success, by matching customers’ challenges and opportunities with VTT excellence 

  • Build and motivate virtual sales teams among the researcher community in collectively gaining a clear understanding of VTT’s business environment 

  • Contribute to VTT research offering creation and service models together with other stakeholders 

  • Operate closely with other sales team members 

What we are looking for: 

  • Knowledge about power systems, power products and/or automation systems is seen as an advantage, but it is not mandatory  

  • A strong track record in: 1) managing strategic customer relationships with international large companies, 2) selling complex consultative projects, 3) creating new business  

  • Experience in value-based sales and business development 

  • You are fluent in English and Finnish; proficiency in Swedish and German is a plus 

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills 

  • Contract management skills 

  • Willingness to travel 

  • Willingness to learn new and develop an adequate understanding of VTT-wide technological excellence  

  • Understanding of decision-making roles and processes in large corporations is a benefit 

  • A higher education degree, preferably within a technical field
