Customs Analyst - Americas (Contract Role, Approximately 12‑Months)

What you will be doing:

As the Customs Analyst - Americas, you will act as the operational heartbeat of our North American import strategy. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of customs brokers in both the U.S. and Canada, ensuring that freight moves without delay and that service providers adhere to our high standards of compliance and efficiency. This is a ~12-month contract role covering maternity leave.

Operational Broker Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving daily broker inquiries and Requests for Information (RFI) to ensure timely entry filing.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate potential delays or holds to internal stakeholders and logistics partners.
  • Research and provide missing commercial documents or data elements required to complete import files.
  • Respond to information requests from brokers regarding Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements to ensure fast and compliant shipment processing.

Data Integrity & Compliance

  • Utilize business systems (such as SAP GTS or e2Open) to validate that accurate data is being transmitted to brokers.
  • Assist in post-entry reviews and audits to ensure broker accuracy regarding valuation, classification, and country of origin.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 1-3 years of experience in customs brokerage, import operations, or international trade compliance.
  • Strong understanding of import requirements for both the United States (CBP) and Canada (CBSA).
  • Experience managing customs brokers and resolving operational clearance issues.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to effectively coordinate between internal teams and external service providers.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize urgent operational issues under pressure and within tight timeline constraints.
  • Proactive in identifying the root cause of operational issues and developing scalable solutions.

Preferred:

  • U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Canadian Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation.

The hourly rate for this role is $45/hr - $55/hr at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, location, relevant experience, education, and/or training.
