At Polystar, we help 100+ telecom operators worldwide understand and optimize their networks through high‑quality, real‑time data. We are now looking for a Data Engineer / Data Analyst who will work hands‑on with telecom datasets—profiling, modelling, enriching, parsing, and validating data that powers our global products and customer deliveries.

This role is part of our data engineering and analytics function, working closely with software engineers, data warehouse teams, and our customer delivery organisation. You will help ensure that data is accurate, complete, well‑structured, and ready for advanced analytics and product use cases.

What You Will Do

• Manipulate, cleanse, profile, model, and enrich large telecom datasets.
• Ensure data flowing into operational and analytics systems is accurate and validated end‑to‑end.
• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines—ETL/ELT processes, transformations, and metadata management.
• Parse and handle structured data formats such as XML and JSON.
• Perform root cause analysis on data issues and help identify opportunities for improving data quality.
• Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and delivery teams to understand customer and product requirements.
• Create reusable parsing logic, validation checks, and lightweight automation (Python is a plus).
• Collaborate with customer teams to troubleshoot and explain data behaviours when needed.

What We’re Looking For

Core Skills (Must‑Have)

• Strong SQL skills (deep SQL, Spark SQL is highly valuable).
• Experience working with relational databases and large datasets.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data transformation workflows.
• Very good understanding of XML, structured data parsing, and Regular Expressions (RegEx).
• Ability to work with unstructured datasets and perform detailed data validation.
• Understanding of APIs, REST, and data queries.
• Experience with Linux commands for file handling and text manipulation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python for parsing or automation.
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Redis, or similar technologies.
• Exposure to Airflow or DAG‑based workflow tools.
• Experience with Elastic / Kibana or other visualization tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience in B2B, telecom, or data‑heavy environments.
• Prior experience working in cross‑functional international teams.
