DayOne - Data Center Cluster Security Manager
Bolt.Works and EXE Headhunting are recruiting key professionals for a new large-scale data center project in Kouvola, Finland.
DayOne is developing and building our first datacenter in Koria, Kouvola, in partnership with Hyperco, initial phases planned to be commissioned by the end of 2026. This is a unique opportunity to join the team at an early stage, working on a mission-critical facility developed through joint venture that combines strong local expertise with a global hyperscale platform.
Data Center Cluster Security Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the security operations across multiple buildings within a data centre cluster. The role includes developing and implementing security policies, managing security personnel, ensuring compliance with security standards, and coordinating responses to security incidents. The aim is to safeguard the data centre facilities, assets, and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures tailored to the needs of multiple data centre buildings.
- Oversee daily security operations across all buildings in the cluster.
- Coordinate and manage security staff, ensuring proper training and compliance with security protocols.
- Monitor and maintain access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems. Ensure authorized personnel have appropriate access to the buildings while preventing unauthorized entry.
Risk Management and Incident Response
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement incident response plans.
- Lead the response to security breaches and incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Vendor and Contractor Management
- Liaise with external security vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third-party security providers.
Security Training and Awareness
- Develop and implement security training programs for all staff within the data centre cluster.
- Promote a culture of security awareness and vigilance among employees and contractors.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present regular security reports to senior management.
- Maintain detailed records of security incidents and actions taken.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage the security budget for the data centre cluster.
- Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective management of security resources.
Technology and Systems Management:
- Stay current with emerging security technologies and trends.
- Recommend and implement new security technologies and systems to enhance the security posture of the data centre cluster.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- Professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or similar is preferred.
- Proven experience in security management, preferably in a data centre or similar high-security environment with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, systems, and best practices.
- Proficiency in security management software and tools.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Finnish is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with high integrity and a collaborative working style.
Location and other employment matters
- The data center is located in Kouvola
- Primarily on-site five days a week
- The job may include training period abroad
