DC Facility Engineer

We are looking for a Data Center Facility Engineer to join our operations team and ensure the highest standards of availability, efficiency, and safety across our mission-critical infrastructure. This is a hands-on role, maintaining and repairing systems such as UPS, cooling, and HVAC, while supporting both internal teams and customers with exceptional service.

You will be responsible for operational excellence in our data centers — from preventive maintenance and on-call emergency response — ensuring that our facilities meet the highest industry standards and atNorth’s own rigorous processes. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will help drive scalability, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on operations and maintenance for all facility systems, ensuring uptime, safety, and efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with power and asset management systems.
  • Respond swiftly to facility emergencies using established procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain data center equipment.
  • Deliver proactive and responsive customer support, including “smart hands” services and equipment installations.
  • Ensure the work environment meets or exceeds safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Participate in 24/7 shift work rotation as required.
  • Contribute to team OKRs and actively engage in self-development.

About You

  • Proven experience with mission-critical facilities and equipment (UPS, cooling, HVAC).
  • Strong understanding of scalable, robust processes and a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable working with vendors and contractors, ensuring adherence to agreed standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent situations effectively.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to safety and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a data center or similar environment.
  • Technical or engineering qualification in relevant field.
  • Experience with asset and power management systems.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in a Nordic language is an advantage.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work outside regular hours when needed.
  • Ability to travel between sites as required.
  • Commitment to high standards of operational excellence and safety.
