We are looking for a Development Team Lead  for our Severa development team and processes. Your future team consists of 25 engineers, including developers, architects and QAs. Severa is the market-leading Professional Service Automation (PSA) software, serving around 50,000 users in Finland, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands. Our goal is to grow our presence in the Nordic market and become the most beloved tool for project teams.

Your role as a Development Team Lead
As a Development Team Lead, you will be crucial to our product's success. You will develop our strong team of engineers, both collectively and individually. Collaborating with our Head of Product, Product Managers, and Designers, you'll help to achieve our ambitious goals as a team.

Your primary objective is to ensure our development team is satisfied, and our processes run efficiently. Your success will be measured by team engagement scores (eNPS) and contributions to our customer value metrics (such as pNPS and CES). We highly value your insights in enhancing our work methodologies and product performance. Your versatile theoretical and practical knowledge of modern development practices—such as agile principles, lean thinking, flow metrics, and team topologies—is highly appreciated.

Our development team consists of four sub-teams: one platform team providing tools and infrastructure and three cross-functional teams focused on delivering customer value.

Who are you?
You likely have a technical background combined with managerial experience. While you don't need to know all the technical details, you should understand your team's direction and activities. Your key responsibilities include ensuring our development team is happy, providing learning opportunities and career growth paths, and aligning the team to deliver optimal customer value.

You are a people person who enjoys forming close relationships with your team. You handle tough conversations with ease and provide guidance without needing to control. You could describe yourself as a servant leader.

With teams in both Lappeenranta and Helsinki, you should be comfortable travelling for work. While face-to-face 1-to-1s are valued, you have the flexibility to work as you prefer. We would love to see you at both locations occasionally.

Your responsibilities:

• Personal coaching and leadership to support motivation and well-being at work of the teams
• Competence development and career planning
• Setting an example for cross-functional collaboration with other teams and functions
• Ensuring that the teams deliver and continuously refine their product development processes
• Helping teams articulate goals that support our business objectives
• Communication and strategic steering
• Participating in budgeting, headcount planning, and recruiting

Your background:

• Prior experience in leading a team
• Genuine motivation and drive to lead a team and coach individuals
• Experience in modern, agile product development
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to promote a self-organising culture, trust, and psychological safety
• Growth mindset and flexible attitude
• Fluent verbal and written skills in English; Finnish is considered an asset
