FVR – Finnish Vaccine Research Ltd. is a special-assignment company of the state, owned by the Finnish government (51%) and the Tampere University Foundation (49%). The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health is responsible for the corporate governance of the company. In addition to clinical vaccine trials, FVR is also specialized in Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies and large-scale pragmatic trials. We work with international pharmaceutical companies.

We are accelerating our digital capabilities both internally and with key stakeholders and are now looking for a full-time Digital Solution Architect to join the exciting development journey of FVR. You will lead and execute well-designed digital solutions architecture, ensuring compatibility with our business system environment and company goals. To succeed in this role, you need a good understanding of how to align business models, processes, operating systems and application architectures. You are well equipped to design and act as a project manager for solutions that offer the best fit to our environment. You know how to communicate technical project details to non-technical stakeholders fluently and understandably. You can be based in Tampere or the greater Helsinki area, and we enable remote work options.

Main responsibilities

• Facilitating, building and maintaining a digital landscape roadmap, also feeding input to FVR strategy
• Analyzing and executing projects in the technology/information systems environment
• Analyzing and documenting requirements
• Setting a framework for effective collaboration
• Creating solution prototypes/pilots and leading technology selection
• Leading solution development and roadmaps of existing solutions
• Making project plans, including business cases, for concrete outcomes
• Executing project plans with good ROI/cost efficiency from start to finish
• Ensuring smooth operative models after go-live of projects

Requirements

• Master’s degree in technology/business majoring in data, digital or another relevant field
• Software and DB architecture design experience, minimum of five years, DevOps experience is an advantage
• IT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud know-how, minimum of five years
• Proven track-record in project and resource management, deep analytical skills and business case experience
• Excellent spoken and written skills in English, and a minimum of good written and spoken Finnish
• Experience of working in private sector, health ecosystems and international business are seen as an advantage
• Ability to switch the perspective from long-term to near-term as well as from strategic to hands-on based on business requirements
