Our flagship product Procountor is the leading financial management solution in Finland, supporting tens of thousands of businesses with their daily financial operations. As Director of Engineering, you will play a key role in shaping how this business critical product is built, developed, and scaled.

Your mission? 🚀 

As our Director of Engineering, you will take full ownership of the engineering function behind Procountor. Your focus is on execution, continuous improvement, and evolving how we build software at scale. You will lead an organization of +100 professionals, including Engineering Managers, architects, and software engineers, and be responsible for how the entire unit produces high quality code as efficiently and effectively as possible.

This is a role for a progressive product development leader who drives change, improves performance, and ensures that engineering delivers measurable business impact.

💡 Your key tasks and responsibilities include:

• Owning the full software production model and continuously improving how engineering operates
• Defining and evolving engineering practices, tools, competencies, and ways of working
• Leading and developing managers and senior engineers while building a strong and accountable organization
• Ensuring efficient and predictable delivery through modern development practices
• Driving the evolution from a semi agile model toward a more modern and scalable operating model
• Establishing, implementing, and continuously improving key performance indicators
• Taking full responsibility for delivery performance, quality, and impact
• Managing technical debt and ensuring long term scalability of the platform
• Partnering closely with Product Management to ensure clear alignment on priorities and execution
• Acting as a strong stakeholder toward DevOps and ensuring smooth transition from development to operations
• Leading through results, data, and measurable outcomes

This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of a large scale engineering organization and evolve it to the next level. You will directly influence how our flagship product is built and delivered, while modernizing ways of working and driving real impact across the business. 

The preferred location would be in Espoo, but other locations in Finland can be discussed. We work in a flexible hybrid model, but hope that you will also be excited to spend some face-to-face time at the office with your team and stakeholders.

We are looking for a results driven engineering leader who knows how to develop both organizations and products at scale. To succeed in this position:

• You have a strong track record of leading and developing large scale engineering organizations
• You have experience improving delivery performance, product capabilities, and engineering maturity
• You have hands on experience building software as a service products and scaling them further
• You have a strong understanding of modern software development including cloud platforms, APIs, and distributed systems
• You are a progressive leader who drives change and does not rely on traditional waterfall approaches
• You have strong stakeholder management skills, especially toward Product Management and DevOps
• You are highly results oriented and able to demonstrate real business impact
• You have a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field
• You are fluent in Finnish and English

It is considered an advantage if you also have:

• Experience in the Finnish accounting or financial software domain
• Background in large scale product organizations
