We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Global Business Services (GBS) organization in Poland. In this role, you will be responsible for financial controlling and statutory reporting activities for the Polish legal entity, ensuring accurate financial results, compliance with internal and external requirements, and a smooth month-end close.

Acting as a key finance partner, you will work closely with GBS teams, Group Finance, and local stakeholders to support transparent financial reporting and continuous improvement of finance processes in an international shared services environment.

What you will be doing:

• Perform financial controlling activities for the Polish GBS entity, including review of monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet in SAP and other reporting tools
• Identify, investigate, and correct accounting issues related to fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, and cost allocations
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards
• Analyse and provide commentary on variances between actual results and budget, as well as balance sheet movements
• Perform account reconciliations in Blackline and ensure compliance with internal control and SOX requirements in line with Group policies
• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and Group requirements
• Assist with VAT, corporate tax, and Group tax reporting, as applicable
• Act as a finance contact for internal and external audits and support audit-related queries
• Support finance process improvements and standardisation in cooperation with Group Finance and GBS teams
• Code purchase invoices, raise purchase orders, perform high-level accounts payable reviews, and support GBS with AP-related queries
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for operating costs and provide insightful commentary on deviations
• Participate in ad hoc finance tasks and projects as required

What you need to succeed:

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a month-end closing environment
• Experience working in an international or shared services environment
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and P&L / balance sheet reviews
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and data quality
• Confident Excel skills; experience with SAP and/or OneStream is an advantage
• Good understanding of internal controls, compliance, and audit requirements
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international teams
• A proactive, well-organised mindset with motivation to drive process improvements
