Fixed-term Position of Professor in Business Regulation
The Faculty of Law at the University of Turku invites applications for a position as Professor in Business Regulation (endowed professorship) for a fixed term of five years.

Professor
• conducts and supervises scientific research
• provides teaching based on this research
• participates in university community and administrative tasks
• actively participates in the activities of the scientific community and social interaction
The position is intended for a researcher of high international standing. The Professor will focus on research and teaching in the field of new EU business regulation, including, for example, the regulation of finance, sustainability, digital services, digital markets, data-driven business, and industrial activities. The Professor will advance innovative research in the field, provide evidence-based knowledge to businesses and policymakers, and educate future experts and leaders to understand and navigate the complex landscape of EU regulation.
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will have
• a relevant doctoral degree,
• strong evidence of high-level, international, and active scientific research and publishing in the field of business regulation,
• diverse teaching and supervision experience,
• willingness to shift their research focus toward the study of financial regulation,
• active participation in collaboration and leadership roles within the scientific community, as well as in public discourse,
• experience in university community and administrative tasks, and
• experience in applying for supplementary research funding
In the evaluation of applicants, particular importance will be attached to the quality, internationality, and innovativeness of the applicant's scientific research, the connections between the applicant's research work and the research and focus areas of the faculty, and the applicant's ability to strengthen the faculty's research profile, build new and developing research areas, and produce high-quality peer-reviewed publications. Research experience in financial regulation will be considered a particular merit.
Emphasis is also placed on the networks and research funding brought by the applicant, internationality, the societal impact of the research, and connections and impact on working life.
The faculty's teaching needs are also taken into account in the selection process.
It is considered an asset if the applicant is able to teach, supervise students’ theses, and grade exams and essays in Finnish.

Salary and trial period
Salary is determined in accordance with the salary system for teaching and research staff at universities (YPJ). The exact salary will be determined when the employment contract is drawn up.
The position has a trial period of six months.
