In the CapMan Real Estate team we execute both value add and stable income-focused investment strategies across all major property sectors in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Our active value-add funds seek to acquire transitional properties in the most liquid Nordic markets where an asset can be enhanced by active rental and cost management, investments in redevelopment, change of use, or repositioning. Our funds and mandates targeting stable income focuses on well-located, high-quality investments that generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors across market cycles. Our Nordic Real Estate operations include approximately 80 committed real estate investment professionals. With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and value creation, we have established a solid reputation for delivering exceptional results and are dedicated to driving superior returns for our investors.
CapMan Real Estate is looking for a Fund Director to work with its existing and new real estate funds. Funds are Luxemburg domiciled and focuses on Nordic property investments. The position is preferably based in our Helsinki office, but we are open to consider other CapMan offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen and London.
The Role
The Fund Director will be responsible for operating the fund and fund models, providing scenario analysis, and supporting portfolio construction. They will liaise with fund rules and regulations in investments, monitor overall fund performance and financing, and collaborate with fund operations, finance, investment and asset management teams to produce fund reports and investor materials. Additionally, the role involves interacting with investors, addressing their regular and ad hoc information requests and questionnaires, and working within an international environment, coordinating with teams and investments across the Nordics.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: maintain and work with fund model; review financial reports and meet investor reporting requirements; and provide regular updates to the investment team and maintain portfolio overview.
- Investor Relations & Communication: organise, prepare and present meeting materials, arrange regular investor calls/meetings, including LP and advisory board meetings; and manage investor information requests and ensure timely provision of reports.
- Compliance & Operations: maintain investment restrictions and monitor fund terms; ensure compliance with regulations and investment processes; and manage document directories and oversee RFP processes.
- Service Provider Management: tender, appoint, and monitor outside service providers; and benchmark fund operations against industry standards.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role we believe that you would have experience and knowledge of the following areas of expertise.
- To be successful in this role we believe that you will recognize yourself in the following: MSc level education in Accounting, Finance, or Real Estate Economics; CFA, CAIA, CPA or similar certification is a plus.
- 4–6 years of experience in private equity, investment management, Big4, or investment banking.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, valuation, and modelling.
- Understanding and command of sustainability reporting and benchmarking like GRESB and data driven business operations (data warehouse, PowerBI, AI) are good merits.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Nordic or other languages is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills; ability to work effectively and co-operatively in an international and multicultural environment.
