The Role

As Global Application & Technical Service Associate Director Bake you will lead our continuous application development efforts and support the technical service activities.  

You will be joining our Bake Business Unit team, a global function which is head quartered in Germany, Darmstadt. This team works closely with Commercial functions (including sales and technical service), Product Development, Regulatory, MarCom and R&D.

Your key responsibilities are:

• Driving and expanding our Global application development and technical service efforts in Bake business unit
• Leading the bake application lab at our headquarters in Germany and the Regions into a department/function that supports the business, offering enzyme-based solutions that bring value to our customers
• Working closely with R&D, Product and Project Management Offices and other relevant departments as we expand our product portfolio, applications
• Leading globally the Application Development team (located in 5 locations globally), manage resources and budget
• Support the cross-functional technical service team on their commercial customer facing activities
• Work closely with Product Management on portfolio optimization, product positioning and insight generation(on market trends and competitive landscape) 
• Drive external collaborations with universities and industry associations to strengthen the innovation pipeline
• Participate at international tradeshows to represent and maintain a high-quality network with technical and application leaders in the various industries that we serve
• Contribute to the general strategy development and decision-making in the Bake Business
• Be a member of the Bake Business Unit Leadership Team (BBLT) 

About You

• You have solid technical understanding based on an academic education, preferably in Baking or food science and technology. Previous Baking application experience is essential 
• You are an outgoing personality, have good interpersonal and communication skills, and proven leadership skills
• You bring work experience of at least 8 years in one or several industries within the business line and experience with Baking enzymes 
• You demonstrate the ability to effectively translate between science, application technology and customer pains/needs 
• You are characterised by a customer-focused and communicative personal style 
• You think in organizational and conceptual terms, with the ability to prioritize and plan on a strategic and tactical level 
• You are a good presenter who can deliver complex topics in a clear and structured way to provide easy to understand messages to various stakeholders 
• You are characterised by agility, open-mindedness, team spirit, mindful of local culture and practices and results orientation 
• You are open to international travel (30%)
