EIT Water is looking for an experienced and pragmatic Head of Human Resources to take the lead in developing our HR function as we grow from start-up into a fully operational European organisation.

A role with real influence

You will work closely with the Executive Team and play a key role in shaping how we attract, develop and support our people across Europe.

Reporting to the Chief Finance & Operations Officer, you will lead the HR agenda with the support of an HR Officer.

This is not simply a role where you will run HR – you will help build it.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and developing the HR function, including policies, processes and systems.
• Supporting organisation design, workforce planning and recruitment.
• Developing talent, leadership and employee development.
• Establishing fair and competitive reward and employment frameworks.
• Ensuring high-quality HR operations and employment compliance.
• Advising managers and the Executive Team on people-related matters.
• Strengthening culture, engagement, inclusion and collaboration across Europe.
• Developing HR data and reporting to support sound business decisions.

A key part of your role will be creating common HR principles across the organisation, while taking local legislation, cultures and labour-market conditions into account.

What you bring

You are a senior HR professional who is comfortable moving between strategy and execution. You enjoy building things, solving problems and creating HR solutions that work in the real world.

You bring:

• 8+ years of experience in senior HR leadership, HR business partnering or HR function-building.
• Broad HR experience across organisational development, talent, leadership development, reward, HR operations and employee relations.
• Experience working in growing, changing or multi-country organisations.
• Practical experience with European employment matters and local compliance.
• Experience advising senior leaders and handling sensitive employee matters with sound judgement and discretion.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and change leadership skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English. Additional European languages are an advantage.

A relevant master's degree or equivalent professional experience is expected. A recognised HR qualification and experience with EIT KIC or Horizon Europe are desirable, but not essential.

Practical information

Location: EIT Water Head Office, Aarhus – hybrid working
Travel: Regular European travel should be expected
Work authorisation: Candidates must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Denmark and have, or be eligible to obtain, the right to work in Denmark.
