We are now looking for IPR Manager in the area of Carbon neutral solutions to join our IPR Management team.

As an IPR Manager, you have a key role in VTT’s IPR portfolio management, IPR prosecution and commercialisation support. Main tasks include managing and developing the patent and IPR license portfolios together with VTT’s IPR Management team. In addition, you support IP based value creation, IPR and technology licensing and overall business development within VTT’s research areas.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to be a key member of the IPR Management team and in turning VTT’s inventions into significant innovations. As an IPR Manager, you will complement the team of currently 10 members. Your main responsibility will be the IPR portfolio of the Carbon Neutral Solutions (CARO) business area to ensure its value for CARO business units.

Our team operates as part of VTT’s Business Support function. As a team, we work in close operation with VTT’s research areas, business development and commercial operations.

As an IPR Manager you will be:

• Managing and building the patent and technology license portfolio for Carbon neutral solutions (CARO) business area including patenting investment decisions. Your IPR portfolio consists diverse set technologies in the areas of
  • Smart Energy and build environment
  • Mobility and transport
  • Industrial energy and hydrogen
  • Nuclear energy
• Working with the diverse team of expertise for the IPR creation, evaluation and protection to enable successful business development in the research areas relevant for your IPR portfolio
• Contributing to IPR and technology licensing of your portfolio in coordination with sales and research teams.

Who we are looking for a person with:

• Understanding of research-based innovations and role of patents as an investments
• Experience in IP licensing including support in licensing negotiations and drafting of license agreements
• Courage and ability to learn technologies
• Knowledge and understanding of Intellectual Property protection processes
• Good collaboration skills and willingness to interact with various stakeholders whether internal or external
• Good communication skills in English
• Ability to manage work in a timely and organized manner to meet your objectives and with ability to focus on the essentials
