IT Director

Are you a leader with a business-first mindset and a dedication for modern technology? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, international growth environment where you can truly own your domain? We are looking for an IT Director to lead our high-performing IT function and shape the digital future of Framery.

In this role, you aren’t just keeping the lights on; you are a strategic partner to our leadership and business units. You will lead a department with talented sub-teams and modern systems in place. Your mission is to take this foundation and build a long-term roadmap that drives global scalability, innovation, and AI integration. Given our international reach, you understand the complexities of managing a distributed technology landscape across multiple time zones and markets. This is a high-impact position where you will bridge the gap between technical excellence and business value, ensuring IT is a proactive enabler of our success story.

You will lead the in-house organization of specialized teams, including Business Applications, Data & Architecture, Information Security, IT Support, and our AI initiative. The official location for this role is at our HQ in Tampere, where most of our IT team works actively onsite. While we believe success in this role comes from being present where the team is - expecting a weekly presence in Tampere - our Helsinki office and other remote options are also available for hybrid work. You will provide coaching to your team leads and ensure our global operations run seamlessly every day.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Defining and executing an IT strategy that scales with the business. You ensure the technology landscape is a driver of growth rather than a bottleneck.
  • Organizational Leadership: Leading and developing a multi-disciplinary IT organization through your team leaders. You are responsible for building a scalable team structure, resource allocation, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Business Partnership: Acting as a key partner to the leadership team to define our digital direction. You ensure IT priorities are integrated with the company’s strategic initiatives and help navigate the balance between growth goals and technical reality.
  • Future-Proofing & Emerging Tech: Overseeing the continuous development of our digital capabilities, ensuring our data utilization and automation remain best-in-class. You focus on keeping our already modern infrastructure resilient, secure, and aligned with evolving industry standards.
  • Financial & Vendor Governance: Directing the total IT budget and managing strategic global partnerships. You ensure cost-efficiency, contract compliance, and maximum value from our technology investments.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

You are an experienced IT professional who thrives in high-growth environments where technology and physical operations intersect. You bring the discipline required to scale global infrastructure alongside the flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving business.

Your leadership style is built on clear communication and accountability; you are comfortable navigating complex business trade-offs and can articulate the "why" behind technical decisions to non-technical peers. With a proactive mindset and a focus on long-term scalability, you take pride in building a stable, cloud-first environment that empowers a global organization to perform at its best.

We’re looking for:

  • Solid experience in IT leadership responsibilities
  • Deep understanding of modern business applications and their role in business architecture.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, coach, and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Finnish and English to effectively influence stakeholders across the organization.
  • A modern technical mindset and an active interest in the latest tech developments.
  • Experience in working within an international environment
  • Readiness for active presence at our Tampere HQ.

Additional Assets:

  • Previous experience in a global company where IT is managed centrally but serves international markets.
  • Previous experience in managing other managers
  • A background in companies with physical products or manufacturing (e.g., machinery, industrial, or technology sectors).
  • Involvement in cross-functional steering groups related to supply chain or sales operations.

Don’t worry if you don’t 100% tick all the boxes - we are eager to hear about you, as we also leave room for the motivation to grow and learn to fit the role.

Why consider this role?

  • Join an Industry Pioneer: Framery’s soundproof pods are used by 70% of Forbes Top 100 companies, including Nvidia, Puma, and Microsoft.
  • Build on Success: You are stepping into a role where things are already in good order. You won’t be putting out fires; you’ll be building the future.
  • Enjoy Autonomy & Influence: As IT Director, you have a front-row seat in a profitable, international growth company with the autonomy to make the role your own.
  • Lead a Strong In-house Team: We do a lot in-house. You’ll lead a dedicated, skilled team that is already working with modern sprint methodologies.
  • Thrive in a People-First Culture: We prioritize employee well-being and foster a fun, dynamic work environment. Framerians always come first.
