Christmas Coordinator, Lapland Safaris
Lapland Staff is looking for Christmas Coordinators for the various locations of Lapland Safaris for the Christmas season 2025. We are looking for coordinators for Levi, Saariselkä and Rovaniemi.
The duties of Christmas Coordinator focus on handling and organizing the safari programs for charter flight travelers. The coordinators form a team who manage the Christmas operations as a whole, with the operator’s daily schedule being its core. This includes for instance transportation scheduling, cooperation with tour operators and management of bookings for various safaris with our suppliers.
The Christmas Coordinator mainly works as part of a team, but must also be capable of independent work, and if necessary, also acts as a guide.
We expect the Christmas Coordinator to have an active and energetic attitude, a suitable education and previous work experience within the tourism field in Lapland, as well as a flexible and firm approach to handling tasks. December is a very busy travel month, so we also hope for problem-solving ability and the ability to work under pressure. The work environment is international, so you must have fluent verbal and written English skills. Knowledge of Finnish language is a big advantage in this position. Other language skills and previous experience in guiding work and providing tourism services are considered an advantage.
In Levi we have open positions for elf guide duty managers and for optional excursion coordinators. Representatives of tour operators actively sell Lapland Safaris optional excursions for travelers of charter flights at the resort. Optional excursion coordinators make the pre-bookings of the excursions to Lapland Safaris’ ERP system before the arrivals and assist the representatives daily with on-sight sales bookings. Daily tasks also include managing allotments of excursions, communicating with suppliers of excursions and at the end of the day handling the liquidation of sales. Thus, previous experience of working with computers and different systems is expected from you, as well as excellent knowledge of MS Excel is necessary to easily complete the tasks involved with optional sales. The time frame for representatives selling the optional excursions is limited, which is why coordinators are expected to be precise and enthusiastic to work under pressure during hectic on-sight sales times.
The duty managers of the elves are the immediate supervisors of the elves and are responsible for the smooth running of the daily program and keeping to the schedule, as well as assisting those on shift with passing on important information. The shift manager checks that the elf guides have marked their shifts correctly at the end of the working day. This job culminates in the desire to work with people, as well as computers. Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is needed.
In Saariselkä and Rovaniemi, the work is done in two different teams, depending on the tour operator. In both teams, the same tasks are performed as in Levi, but the tasks are divided among the teams with different emphasis. In Rovaniemi a driver’s license is mandatory and in Saariselkä it is considered an advantage.
Other daily tasks include e.g. taking care of running things that need to be handled on site, being the contact person for subcontractors, preparing the next day's schedules and driving elf guides to work and from work to accommodation after the workday. The Christmas Coordinator is also ready to jump into Elf’s role every now and then- in the case of giving a break to others or sick leave for example. In Santa’s Secret Hideaway Kelokaira, all elves, as well as Christmas coordinators (from other destinations as well) are required to dress up as elves. Thus, the ability to switch from one role to another is important!
