Lecturer, Service Innovation and Design
We are seeking a lecturer at Laurea University of Applied Sciences in the unit for UAS Master's degrees. This is a fixed-term position from March 2026 until 31.12.2028.
The lecturer's role is to work in the Master's degree program in Service Innovation and Design in close cooperation with the Principal Lecturer, who is in charge of the program. The role includes teaching, supervising theses, student guidance, and working on RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) projects. You will actively utilise professional networks and participate in research and development projects in implementing Laurea's Learning by Developing (LbD) model.
You will belong to the Diversity and Multilingualism (DiLing) Research Group that is closely linked to the Service Innovation and Design Master’s degree programme. The DiLing Research group conducts interdisciplinary research to advance collaboration among individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The research aims to develop innovative and inclusive solutions that support integration, language learning, and diversity management in various societal and professional contexts.
The position requires a relevant higher education degree, pedagogical qualification (60 ECTS), and at least three years of relevant work experience in the field you are teaching. The role also requires expertise in business administration with a focus on service innovation and design, good interpersonal skills, a student-centered approach, as well as a proven track record in publishing and obtaining RDI funding. The studies are conducted in English, so excellent English language skills are required.
We also value demonstrated pedagogical skills, the ability to utilise diverse teaching methods both in physical and digital learning environments, interest and proven success in student guidance, and expertise in subject areas of the programme’s core competence studies, such as service and business design (See the core competence studies). Ongoing or completed doctoral studies are considered an advantage. Finnish language skills are valued. In Laurea, we also gladly support our employees in language skill development.

The lecturer's monthly salary is composed of the years of relevant work experience and the previously listed official qualifications, and ranges between 3700-5200 euros. A person with +20 years of relevant experience and the official qualifications will have a monthly salary around 5100-5300€ (61,000 - 63,000€ yearly). The annual working time for a full-time lecturer is 1600 hours in a calendar year (on average 40 hours/week).
The position is located at Laurea's Leppävaara campus, and working partly remotely is possible. The work includes seldomly visiting also other Laurea's campuses. The terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement for Universities of Applied Sciences. The eligibility requirements for the lecturer are determined by the decree on Universities of Applied Sciences 1129/2014 and Laurea's regulations.
