Your Role
As R&D Director, you will lead Lumon’s global research and development strategy, driving innovation, product excellence, and technological advancement across Lumon’s international markets. This pivotal role offers high visibility and strategic influence, allowing you to shape the future of their product portfolio and deliver inspiring, sustainable living spaces to their customers.
The position includes
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a global R&D strategy aligned with Lumon’s vision, strategic goals, and market dynamics. Prioritize initiatives that enhance growth and competitive advantage.
- Innovation & Product Development: Oversee the global innovation roadmap, ensuring products meet diverse market needs while maintaining quality, sustainability, cost efficiency, and scalability. Ensure compliance and manufacturability across all markets.
- Digital Transformation & Process Excellence: Drive adoption of modern R&D tools, digital processes, and best practices such as DfX and Design for Six Sigma to accelerate time-to-market.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, operations, procurement, production, installation, and commercial teams to ensure seamless global-local execution.
- Team Leadership: Inspire, develop, and grow a global R&D organization, fostering innovation, agility, and high performance across engineering, product development, and advanced technology teams.
Candidate Profile
- Education: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or technology field.
- Experience: 10+ years in senior R&D leadership roles in global organizations, ideally within building products or related industries; proven track record in driving R&D strategy with measurable business impact; experience in leading global and multicultural teams.
- Expertise: Strong product development knowledge (NPD/NPI), engineering, quality, compliance, market understanding, and proficiency with modern R&D tools (CAD, PLM, analytics, simulation).
- Leadership & Personality: Value-driven, hands-on, action-oriented, proactive, humble yet confident, accountable, adaptable, resilient, and entrepreneurial. Fluency in English is required; additional Lumon Group language is a plus.
