What awaits you with us?

As Marketing Data Engineer, your role contains handling, storage, and utilisation of various marketing data. You will be a part of our skilled internal data engineering team of five which is part of the Finance & Analytics unit. In short, we ensure that the right data moves to the right usage with the right tools, meaning we work daily with data platforms, databases, and interfaces. We store data from various database environments, utilise modern tools, and have the freedom to innovate. We combine internal company data and enrich it with external data sources. Additionally, we are responsible for some internal integrations within the company. Our work does not involve direct customer interaction; instead, we primarily serve internal clients.

What do we expect from you?

We trigger for example Salesforce Marketing Cloud actions utilising the user data we gather, so knowledge of Marketing Cloud APIs is beneficial for the role. Conversion interfaces (Google, Meta, and LinkedIn) will also become familiar to you in this role. You will have a chance to learn and share knowledge with your expert colleagues in data engineering, but the role involves also strong collaboration with our marketing professionals.

• We work with data using low-code/no-code tools such as Airbyte and FRENDS whenever possible, but general programming skills (e.g., Python) are necessary for the role. 
• Proficiency in API interfaces, databases, and SQL programming is also required. 
• We also use dbt and GitHub. 
• Particularly, the use of Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) for data warehousing is included in the role. 
• Although visualisation and storytelling are not directly within our scope, familiarity with BI tools (such as Looker studio, Tableau, PowerBI) may be useful to you.

You won’t necessarily need years of experience in the aforementioned areas, but it doesn’t hurt either. If the described areas of expertise seem familiar to you, you likely have a suitable degree of higher technical education or equivalent knowledge and skills. The most important qualities though are your abilities to take initiative and to solve problems. Effective communication skills in both Finnish and English are necessary for this role.

Although we're closely connected throughout the day, we don't physically sit close to each other, so we don't expect you to either. However, we would appreciate it if you could occasionally visit us and gather together with your team mates at our offices in either Lappeenranta or Pasila, Helsinki.
