Master´s Thesis worker, AI for Sustainability and Circularity

We are now looking for a Master Thesis worker to join our Industrial circular economy team in Espoo or Tampere.   

As a Master´s Thesis worker, you will: 

Contribute to the development in sustainability or circularity related topics with AI and Data Science. You should be interested in integrating AI to foster sustainability analytics. Advanced sustainability and circularity analytics will be applied in the areas of green transition such as electrification and materials related to these technologies.   

Your thesis work could/should be connected to questions for example:  

  • How to utilise AI to support Lifecycle Assessment / Safe and Sustainable by Design ensuring products are designed with safety, sustainability, and circularity at their core, while also fostering the development of competencies in creative thinking and problem-solving.  
  • How AI can support data collection and increase the spectrum of data utilised in life-cycle assessment, environmental impact assessment and circularity analysis.   
  • How large datasets are utilized in Python-based calculations efficiently with a focus on promoting circular design principles and developing transversal skills such as teamwork, planning, and design. 

Who we are looking for:  

  • You have university level studies in relevant fields such as data science, and minor in sustainable materials production and maintenance or environmental engineering.  
  • You are ready to focus fulltime on your Master’s thesis. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.  
  • Fluent in English with good reading, writing, and communication skills.  

The practical tasks include:  

  • Programming with Python.  
  • Using data analytics and AI methods in general  
  • Communication of your results both in oral presentations and in written reports
