We are now looking for a Master's Thesis Worker to join our Electrical Metrology team. Join us - and let’s make an impact together!

As a Master’s Thesis Worker, you will have a role in developing superbly accurate optical atomic clocks. In this position, you will have the opportunity to learn about the most accurate devices ever built.

Our team, Electrical Metrology, also realizes the official Finnish time scale and carries out research on long-distance time and frequency dissemination, quantum electronics, etc.

As Master's Thesis Worker, you will:

perform mainly experimental research on a topic that can be tailored somewhat based on your background. Examples include:

  • Optical frequency measurements using frequency combs, gated photodetectors and software-defined radios (preferred).
  • Low-frequency vibration mitigation for low-drift, ultra-stable ‘clock’ lasers using broadband seismometers.

Who we are looking for:

  • A person with a strong education and know-how in physics or electrical engineering whose studies are at the Master’s Thesis stage.
  • A skilled person interested in experimental research, RF electronics or software-defined radio programming.
  • Some prior knowledge of lasers, optics, electronics, or programming is essential.
