We are looking for a Master's thesis worker to a fixed-term position in our Remote Sensing team. Join us - and let’s make an impact together!

As a Master’s Thesis worker, you will develop, under supervision, innovative methods for the automatic localization of objects from remotely sensed images.

Our team, VTT Remote Sensing, works on various environmental and surveillance applications using satellite and airborne imagery including hyperspectral data. We manage a cloud-based Thematic Exploitation Platform F-TEP. Our current solutions contribute to the sustainable use of Earth’s natural resources.

As a Master's thesis worker, you will be:

Developing and prototyping, in consultation with your supervisor, image processing chains for object and pattern recognition using satellite images acquired by Earth Observation sensors. Imaging radar sensors are of primary interest. It is expected that research findings will be published in international conferences and journals, and result in a Master's thesis.

Who we are looking for:

  • You preferably have a background in computer vision and pattern recognition, and are capable of coding in Python and familiar with the mathematical fundamentals of pattern recognition.
  • You might have prior experience with satellite image processing, in particular synthetic aperture radar image analysis, but it is not necessary.

As a person, we hope that you are:

  • A quick learner and a team player willing to collaborate with your colleagues.

With VTT, you’ll enjoy:
