We are now looking for Master’s Thesis worker for the process development for microelectronics 

with interest in cleanroom process development, you identify and solve problems independently and creatively, while working closely and flexibly with a team of experts. You focus on the optimization and fabrication aspects of the patterning process including photolithography and etching, data collection and process analysis.   

Our team focuses on microsystems for medical applications. We are working with optical devices such as tunable filters based on Fabry-Pérot interferometers, infrared detectors, thermophotonics for optical cooling and energy harvesting. Our further technologies include various MEMS sensors and ultrasonic devices and systems. These technologies enable us to solve world-class problems with our partners for cleaner and safer environment and society, more sustainable industries, and better health and wellbeing. We are now reinforcing our expertise in cleanroom manufacturing and quality improvement.

Your responsibilities as Master’s Thesis Worker:

  • Developing environmentally more sustainable processes for microelectronics
  • Cleanroom process characterization, analysis and optimization.
  • Communicating and solving the problems in tight collaboration with others at VTT and industrial partners.

Who we are looking for:

  • You are finalizing your Master’s degree studies in chemistry, materials science, micro- and nanotechnologies, electronics, or closely similar field, and you are looking for a topic for a Master’s thesis
  • Excellent communications skills in English are required.

  • You have experience in cleanroom fabrication.
  • You have strong communication and collaboration skills. You are able to efficiently interact with your colleagues and with people from different fields.
  • An enthusiastic outside-the-box thinker. You enjoy challenges and learning new things and have a strong passion for science and research and development
