We are now looking for a Master’s Thesis Worker to join our Fibre web processes team. Join us - and let’s make an impact together!

As a Master’s Thesis Worker, you will be involved in developing textile recycling and textile manufacturing using recycled and bio-based materials. The goal for the thesis is to create understanding of the effect of properties of recycled fibres on yarn spinning and further manufacturing steps in textile value chain. The work includes measuring and analysing the properties of fibres, yarns and textiles, as well as, if necessary, applying and developing measurement methods for the recycled materials.

As a Master's thesis worker, you will:

  • Conduct a literature review on textile recycling
  • Develop analysis methods, characterise different recycled and bio-based fibres
  • Study the relationships between the properties of the starting materials and their processing possibilities into yarns and textiles

Who we are looking for:

  • A highly motivated student with relevant educational background in textiles, materials science, environmental engineering, bioprocesses engineering, circular economy, or relevant field
  • Good skills in Finnish
  • Good skills in English (reading, writing, presenting)

We expect you to have an interest towards developing yourself as a scientist and interest in textile production, recycling and circular economy. Previous knowledge of textile processes is an advantage, but not necessary; enthusiasm and the desire to learn can replace prior knowledge, if necessary.
