We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Engineer and Researcher to join our team in the development of a cutting-edge virtual power plant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the technical and market operations supporting our virtual power plant project. You will also be responsible for research including communications interfaces to industrial grade batteries and industrial plant control system. 

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct research and development activities related to power systems, rectifiers, inverters and lithium batteries
• Development of Python software mainly focused on the operational aspects of DES
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in battery energy storage technology
• Handling and coordinating productions issues – solving incidents and problems tickets
• Develop ways of working with internal/external customers, stakeholders, production, and development teams
• Communicating / collaborating with variety of external vendors and internal stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
• Great proficiency in Python programming language
• Experience in modern software development (DevOps, Test Driven, Agile, clean code) building products
• Experience in conducting research and development activities
• Knowledge of battery energy storage systems, industrial heat storage, industrial control systems and related technologies
• General knowledge of power electronics, rectifiers, inverters
• Knowledge of low-level communications protocols, modbus, rs485, snmp, mqtt
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Solid communication and teamwork abilities
• Excellent in written and spoken English, adequate skills in spoken Finnish language
• Driving license - B
