Patent Paralegal / PaFa(m/f/d) – Munich
Your Role and Impact
At Berggren, you’ll be part of a highly professional and international IP practice, working at the heart of European patent prosecution and litigation. As a Patent Paralegal, you play a key role in ensuring that our patent work runs smoothly and efficiently by supporting our patent attorneys and contributing to high-quality client service.
Your Responsibilities / Key Tasks
- Deadline Management: Monitoring, calculating, and registering strict national and international IP deadlines (Fristenüberwachung).
- File & Case Management: Independent management and structuring of patent files from filing to grant.
- Application Processing: Preparing and filing formal applications and handling correspondence with national and international IP offices (e.g., DPMA, EPO, EUIPO, WIPO).
- Client Correspondence: Conducting professional correspondence in English and German with clients, and foreign associate attorneys worldwide.
- Fee Administration: Monitoring, processing, and paying official filing, examination, and annual maintenance/renewal fees.
- Administrative Support: Handling general office organization, including processing incoming mail, preparing invoices, and managing data in IP management software.

What You Bring
You have completed training as a Patent Paralegal (Patentanwaltsfachangestellte/r) or hold a comparable qualification, combined with at least two to three years of relevant professional experience. You are used to working in a structured and detail-oriented way and take pride in accuracy and reliability.
You are comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for your own tasks, while also being a supportive team member. In addition, you bring very good IT skills and communicate confidently in both German and English, both in writing and verbally. Your strong communication skills and service-oriented mindset help you collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients. Furthermore, you possess a strong attention to detail, reliable organizational skills, and a proactive mindset.
