People & Culture Manager, Human Resources

We are looking for a People & Culture Manager to our Heinola mill to drive our people strategic agenda. You will work in Packaging Materials division and report to the Heinola Mill Director. You will be a member of the Heinola mill management team.


As a People & Culture Manager you will translate the people strategy into action plans. In this role, you will work closely with the mill and the leadership team to develop and implement people solutions aligned with the business strategy and people priorities.

Your key tasks will include:

  • Drive business change initiatives focusing on strategic activities aligned with business objectives
  • Support management in identifying and developing the organizational capabilities required to execute the business strategy
  • Monitor, develop and support actions linked to employee engagement, diversity & inclusion, ways of working and the employee experience
  • Leverage performance management insights and analytics to drive talent development
  • Proactively identify talent gaps, propose and implement changes necessary to cover risks
  • Facilitate effective succession planning process by partnering with senior leaders to identify and proactively develop the next generation of leaders
  • Build leadership capabilities by coaching and providing advice to line management on people matters 
  • Drive local employer branding activities and collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders
  • Manage the union relationship and legally required processes with unions
  • Drive and own the relations and dialogue with unions locally to impact on pre-conditions for any new agreements and changes
  • In a network with business HR from the division and the other Packaging Materials mills in Finland, Poland, Sweden and China contribute to the realization of common Packaging Materials and Stora Enso people and culture priorities globally

We are looking for an experienced HR professional with a breadth of HR knowledge from working in international corporations, preferably in manufacturing industry, and one who is used to work with leading HR technology solutions. As a People & Culture Manager you should understand how to integrate people priorities with business strategy. We are looking for someone who is passionate to drive performance, change, leadership and management effectiveness at our mill. A demonstrated level of competence in change management and organizational development, talent management, and coaching, is required. You have experience from working in a matrix organization and are able to utilize your competencies outside of immediate organizational boundaries. Finally, you must have previous experience of driving labour law and collective agreement related topics.
