We are looking for a Preschool teacher in early childhood education to Pilke daycare centre Siru in Espoo.

The position requires a willingness to utilise your competence, to develop and innovate new ideas and to provide the children and colleagues with a good day through personal engagement. The daycare centre has places for 148 children. 

Pilke Daycare Siru is located in a beautiful natural setting in Lintuvaara, Espoo, in a log-built daycare building. Siru provides high-quality, child-centered early childhood education and preschool education for children aged 0–6 years in warm and modern facilities. Siru is a science-oriented daycare where children learn a positive attitude toward nature and a sustainable way of living. We spend a lot of time outdoors, regardless of the weather. Our daily activities emphasize exploring and observing natural phenomena, regular excursions, and moving in nature. Creativity, recycling, and using natural materials as learning and play tools are an important part of our everyday life. Siru has an English-speaking group for children aged 2.5–5 years. The group’s main language is English, and visual supports are used to aid language development and communication. 

As a preschool teacher in early childhood education, your task is to support and foster the children’s growth, development and learning. You are familiar with the content of the national core curricula for early childhood education and care and preschool and you are capable of putting these into practice. You plan, assess and develop the child group’s pedagogical activities and, for your part, are responsible for the implementation of high-quality pedagogy at your unit. You base your working methods on pedagogical principles, a positive and active attitude, good interactive skills and the ability to encounter children genuinely. You enjoy working with children, see the future in them and value your work as a teacher in early childhood education, as a good day maker.

To be qualified for the position, you must hold qualification for preschool teacher. Must be completed / commits to complete (self-funded): General Language Certificate (YKI), highest level of English language. Hiring will take place as soon as a suitable empoyee is found.

The selected candidate shall present to the employer a criminal records extract within the meaning of Section 6 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993).

• Salary between 2762,58-3011,25 € / month (starting 1.8.2026 between 2831,64-3086,53€ / month),
• Regional avaiability allowance for a qualified teacher 192,36€ (starting 1.8.2026 197,17€ / month), 
• An allowance of 150€ (starting 1.8.2026 153.75€/ month) for a Master degree
