Suominen Corporation is looking to hire, for the Cressa plant (Novara, Italy) the Plant Director, able to lead, manage, develop and control the operations of the plant in order to achieve the medium and long-term production objectives defined by corporation.

As a Plant Director you will lead the operations, minimize the risks, manage the related costs and monitor the finances of the plant, being responsible for tactical direction and planning.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Leading, managing and developing a team of functional and operational managers or other professionals to ensure the site meets established goals and standards
• Establishing operating budgets within specific levels, monitoring the costs and effectiveness of site-related activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve safety, quality, and production standards
• Monitoring site performance against standards and objectives in areas such as production efficiency, production cost control, maintenance, supply chain reliability and availability, legal compliance, capital investment proposals, HSEQ, and human resources management
• Developing and implementing a variety of operating policies and procedures (in conjunction with company subject matter experts) to ensure the facility meets current and future production goals
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders (authorities, union representatives, media) to develop and improve company relationships
• Evaluating capital investment needs related to plant safety, line performances, equipment aging and environmental requirements to optimize and maintain safety, quality, and efficiency

To be successful in this role, we would like you to have:

• University degree in Engineering or similar
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Preferred background in continuous production
• Knowledge of the textile/paper, or FMCG industry
• Problem-solving and excellent conflict management skills
• Strong organizational and task prioritization skills
• Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
• Fluent English

The position will be based in the Cressa plant (Novara, Italy) and will directly report to the COO of the Suominen Corporation.
