Finnish National Opera Orchestra announces audition for
PRINCIPAL HORN
Obligation to play the descant horn, the Wagner tuba, the natural horn and the Vienna horn.
Permanent position starting on 3.8.2026, or by agreement.
AUDITION will take place at the Finnish National Opera on Thursday 16.4.2026.
Required pieces:
1) W.A. Mozart: Horn Concerto no. 4 in Eb major KV 495 with cadenza
2) Richard Strauss: Horn Concerto no. 1, op.11
3) Orchestral excerpts
Music for the orchestral excerpts will be available after the application has been sent.
We are looking for
- Musician working at high artistic level
- Musician who has ability to work in artistic supervisor role
- Person with good communication and co-operation skills
Salary range: 4432,16-5231,50 EUR /month. In addition, instrument and dress reimbursement and remuneration for recording.
An accompanist will be provided but candidates may bring their own pianist if they so desire.
The candidates selected for the audition will be informed after the application closing date.
Position is open to applicants of any nationality.
