Production Development Trainee
Hello, future Framerian! Want to kickstart your career and thrive in a supportive environment?
We are looking for a Trainee to join our Production Development team for the summer of 2026! This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the practical, hands-on world of lean manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement within our Tampere factory. You will be a crucial part of the team responsible for ensuring our production is as efficient, safe, and ergonomic as possible.
The role offers a fantastic career kickstart, allowing you to drive real-world changes and see the direct impact of your work on the factory floor. You’ll be part of a collaborative, expert team where your proactive attitude and problem-solving skills will be key to success.
As a Production Development Trainee, you'll be working with:
- Continuous Improvement: Driving forward our continuous improvement process by reviewing, coordinating, and implementing development initiatives and suggestions received directly from production staff.
- Process Coordination: Acting as a coordinator for improvement efforts, working closely with internal stakeholders to determine feasibility and implementation of changes related to processes, layout, or quality assurance.
- Project Support: Covering for Production Engineers on project-related tasks during the holiday season. This may include coordinating changes to products in production, updating critical work instructions, or supporting equipment projects (e.g., related to automation or quality control).
- Hands-on Development: Opportunities to develop tools or equipment for production, including 3D modeling (SolidWorks) and utilizing our in-house 3D printing capabilities.
We are looking for:
- Studies in an advanced stage or already completed, preferably in an applied field of Engineering such as Industrial Engineering, Production Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Automation.
- A proactive, self-directed 'doer' attitude with a passion for problem-solving and making things better (a continuous improvement mindset).
- Solid interpersonal and collaboration skills to successfully coordinate efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling (SolidWorks) is an advantage.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or previous experience working in a factory environment is a plus.
- Excellent documentation skills
- Proficiency in English and Finnish (both verbally and in writing).
Practicalities:
This is a fixed-term Trainee position from May 4th until the end of August 2026. If you are able to start sooner than May, please mention it in your application documents. While this traineeship is for the summer, there is a chance for continuation and a permanent contract after the summer period. The position is located at our headquarters and factory in Tampere. We value in-person collaboration and therefore active readiness to work at HQ in Tampere is required. The compensation for the role is based on our trainee salary, which ranges from €2250 to €2800 per month. The final compensation depends on achieved study credits.
