Production Engineer
Are you ready to shape world-class manufacturing for an industry pioneer? We are looking for a Production Engineer to join our Production Development team in Tampere. Your mission is to drive operational excellence across our assembly floor, executing workstation projects and process improvements to ensure peak production capacity, quality, and ergonomics. If you bring a background or interest in electrical engineering, you will also have the opportunity to take ownership of our in-house electrical testing setups.
We are looking for a hands-on, solution-oriented engineer with experience in manufacturing or assembly environments. Success in this role comes from strong interpersonal skills, a genuine excitement to roll up your sleeves on the factory floor, and the drive to own manufacturing solutions from concept to the assembly line.
Your responsibilities include:
Production Equipment: Manage production workstation equipment throughout its lifecycle in close collaboration with internal and external partners. Your role spans from running new equipment projects to securing the continuous capability and performance of existing assets. Depending on your background, you can also take ownership of our electrical testing equipment development, functionality, and supplier collaboration.
Continuous Improvement: Drive tasks and projects aimed at optimizing shop-floor safety, ergonomics, product quality, and production line efficiency.
Process & Layout Development: Plan and execute layout designs and material flows from start to finish to secure production capacity, optimize space utilization, and adapt to changing assembly needs.
NPI & DFA Implementation: Participate in R&D projects as a production and DFA (Design for Assembly) expert. With your team, take responsibility for ramping up new products and design updates smoothly onto the factory floor.
What Makes You a Great Fit?
We value genuine drive, hunger, and enthusiasm for production development. Rather than sitting behind a desk all day, you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, getting hands-on with tools and equipment, and seeing the immediate, visible impact of your work on the shop floor. Above all, we hope that you are a team player with strong interpersonal skills, equally comfortable discussing everyday assembly work with operators, sparring with R&D engineers, and negotiating specs with equipment vendors.
We’re looking for:
A completed B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering.
Experience working in a manufacturing, machinery, or assembly environment with a demonstrated track record of hands-on problem-solving.
Strong understanding of technical project management, documentation, and managing equipment procurement with external partners.
Ability to evaluate trade-offs, interpret process data, and implement root-cause analysis to improve quality and throughput.
Fluent Finnish and good professional English, as you will collaborate with suppliers and international teams.
Additional Assets:
A degree, minor, or hands-on interest in electrical engineering or testing equipment is a huge plus that allows you to take ownership of electrical test stations.
Practical experience tinkering with machines, 3D CAD modeling, automotive/mechanic work, or jig/fixture design.
Don’t worry if you don’t 100% tick all the boxes - we are eager to hear about you, as we also leave room for the motivation to grow and learn to fit the role.
