Project Researcher/Research Assistant for the Business Renewal research group at CCR unit
The Centre for Collaborative Research CCR at Turku School of Economics, University of Turku, invites applications for a fixed-term position of Project Researcher/Research Assistant starting from May 1, 2026, or as agreed, and lasting until July 31, 2027.
We are looking for a Project Researcher or Research Assistant for the Business Renewal research group to support research on business renewal, new business models, and the impacts of sustainable and digital transition on business. The research group examines how companies, ecosystems, and value chains are being renewed through technological development, data utilization, regulation, and the sustainability transition.
Job description
The duties of a project researcher/research assistant may include, for example:
- collecting research data and conducting literature reviews
- mapping research data related to the manufacturing industry, logistics, digital transport corridors, and the space economy
- processing and analyzing interview and survey data
- supporting the preparation of research reports, presentations, and other research materials
- preparing workshops and stakeholder events
The project researcher's duties also focus on research analysis, preparing scientific publications, and participating in the development of research projects. The specific content of the duties will be determined based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate.
Who we are looking for
A person selected for the post of project researcher is required to have a higher university degree. When assessing the merits of the applicants, special emphasis will be placed on competence and practical expertise in the field of question. The qualification requirements for the positions are defined in the University of Turku Rules of Procedure.
The research assistant position is intended for students pursuing a master's degree.
We expect you to have
The position is suitable for, for example, master's degree students, recent graduates, or applicants interested in pursuing a doctoral degree whose interests include for example:
- business renewal and innovation
- the maritime industry, logistics, or transportation systems
- space economy and satellite-based data services
- digitalization, data-driven business and ecosystems
- sustainable business and green transition
- research methods (e.g., literature reviews, qualitative or quantitative analysis)
The position requires good English language skills. Finnish language skills can be considered an advantage in stakeholder cooperation.

Salary and trial period
The salary is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel. The salary for a Project Researcher in the beginning of employment is approximately 2800-3200 EUR per month. The salary for a Research Assistant in the beginning of employment is about 2200-2400 EUR per month.
The position has a trial period of six months.
