Now we are looking for a PROPOSAL ENGINEER / SENIOR PROPOSAL ENGINEER to join our team in Lahti, Finland.
In this role, your level of responsibility depends on your background and experience. You will manage proposals for clients in both the aviation and defense industries, ensuring tailored solutions that meet specific industry standards. As a Proposal Engineer or Senior Proposal Engineer, you manage the entire proposal process – from initial client discussions and needs assessment to preparing the final offer and closing the deal. You act as the project manager for your own sales cases and serve as the primary contact person for customers, suppliers and other stakeholders throughout the process.
Your key responsibilities include:
Networking and sales
Identifying customer needs and replying to offer inquiries
Coordinating the work of designers, overseeing the sales project, and organizing design reviews
Identifying subcontractors and requesting quotations
Ensuring all project terms are reviewed with internal stakeholders
Delivering the final offer to the customer and managing the closing phase
In your role, you report to the CEO and your office is in Lahti. As the products are very specific, your presence is needed onsite during the orientation period. After that, you can work in a flexible hybrid model. You are expected to travel when needed, approximately 20–50 days yearly.
You are the person we are looking for if you have:
An educational background in e.g. mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering
Experience in international project sales and a solid understanding of project-related costs
Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills combined with a self-driven and proactive attitude
Fluent English skills, both written and spoken
Experience in the defense industry or familiarity with military standards (e.g., MIL, NADCAP) is considered an advantage
