RDI Specialist/Senior Specialist, Human-Centered Technology 

Are you excited about emerging technologies and their impact on people and organizations? Laurea University of Applied Sciences is looking for an RDI Specialist to join our international team working on externally funded research and development projects. The position is full-time and permanent.

You’ll be part of a new Human-Centered Technology research team operating at the intersection of business, technology, and security. Our work focuses on how organizations can successfully adopt technologies like AI while keeping people at the center. You’ll help to design and deliver impactful RDI projects—from preparing funding proposals to implementing research, development, and client-driven initiatives. You’ll bring a human-centered perspective to emerging technologies such as generative AI and support organizations in building future-ready capabilities. 

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Holistic understanding of human-centered design aspects: people, organizations, technology  

  • Solid grasp of emerging technologies (esp. artificial intelligence) 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (technology, business, other) for specialist position or doctoral degree for senior specialist position 

  • 5+ years of experience in RDI or business  

  • Track record in RDI funding/projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, Business Finland) 

  • Excellent communication skills in English (working language) 

  • Collaborative mindset, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills  

  • Ability to manage projects and adapt in a fast-evolving field 

  • Availability to begin working in August-September

  • Experience with AI, data & analytics, or digital development  

  • Experience in process or IT development and deployments  

  • Experience in training, change programs, or competence development  

  • Publications or experience in sales/marketing content creation 

  • International experience and cross-cultural collaboration

What we offer 

  • Salary: specialist 3400–4700 eur/month (42 000-59 000 eur/year) , senior specialist 4400–5400 eur/month (55 000 - 67 500 eur/year) depending on work experience and qualifications
  • 6 -7,5 weeks of yearly vacation depending on work experience (after first year of employment)

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Leppävaara campus in Espoo.  The work may also involve working at other Laurea campuses as well as occasional travel, as agreed separately. The role can be performed partly remotely. The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement for Universities of Applied Sciences. The working time is 36.25 hours per week. We offer flexible working arrangements, including flexible working hours and partial remote work.

The starting date is negotiable with planned starting date in August 2026. A probationary period of six (6) months applies to the position.
