We’re looking for a Record to Report (Journal Entries & Reporting) Team Lead for Amer Sports’ GBS in Kraków

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the RTR team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of accounting activities, supporting team development, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will act as a key point of contact for operational topics, collaborate with global stakeholders, and ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements.

The role combines people leadership, accounting expertise, process ownership, and stakeholder management within a global environment.

What you will be doing

Team Leadership & People Development

  • Lead and support the RTR Journal Entries & Reporting team, ensuring effective workload management and high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and feedback to team members to support their professional development.
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, performance discussions, and development planning.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.

RTR Operations & Accounting Activities

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of RTR activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
  • Oversee period-end closing activities and ensure compliance with the global closing schedule.
  • Prepare journal entries for North America entities, including accruals, prepayments, payroll, revaluation, and IFRS 15-related postings.
  • Execute SAP period closing activities and closing cycle runs for assigned entities.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reporting in OneStream and perform SAP vs. OneStream reconciliations.
  • Manage GR-IR reconciliations, goods-in-transit entries, inventory reserve postings, and PPV capitalization activities.
  • Monitor AP/AR balance movements and ensure accuracy of inventory-related GL accounts.
  • Perform BlackLine reconciliations in line with company policies and internal controls.

Compliance & Process Governance

  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain process integrity and support audit activities.
  • Ensure adherence to Amer Sports and GBS policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and automation.

Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as the main escalation point for operational issues and stakeholder queries.
  • Collaborate closely with Financial Controllers, Global Process Owners, and GBS leadership.
  • Represent the RTR team in cross-functional meetings, audits, and global initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs and SLAs and provide regular performance updates to management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery.

What you need to succeed

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in accounting, including significant experience in a supervisory, team lead, or people management role within RTR, GBS, or a similar finance environment.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of accounting professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end closing processes.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) would be an advantage.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of SAP Finance, especially General Ledger and period-end closing processes.
  • Experience with SOX compliance requirements and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience with OneStream or similar consolidation/reporting tools.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Experience with process documentation methodologies (DTPs, Process Maps, RACI).
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural environment.
